My Story:

For as long as I can remember I've had a passion for creating inviting spaces. In my early teens I started by moving furniture in new arrangements, introducing new color, fabrics and lighting. I’d scour through catalogs and magazines to find the hippest décor!  That same exuberance for design still exists, but now I possess the professional experience and training and have a portfolio of work to speak for what I love to do.

I’d describe my style as having east coast bones with a cleaned up contemporary vibe! I value and respect the traditional styles of our New England architecture but enjoy the calm of a simpler line… and a fresh new palate of quality materials.  You won’t find fussy “themed” inspired interiors in my portfolio. I prefer the careful selection of timeless shapes and materials with a more current infusion of color and texture.

Experience:

Interior Designer DSK/Dewing Schmid Kearns in Concord, MA.

An architecture firm deep in experience and an abiding sense of stewardship for New England architecture. I focused primarily on residential interiors, specializing in kitchen and bath design for both new construction and renovation projects. Many projects included living spaces requiring lighting plans, material and fixture selection, color plans, furnishings and decor'.

Designer and Selections Manager Platt Builders, in Groton MA.

This invaluable experience allowed me to work collaboratively with architects, custom cabinet makers, project managers and carpenters from project inception to completion. Not only have I been immersed in the full creative design process but also the hard work of bringing it to fruition. I am well versed in managing budget guidelines, construction schedules, and sourcing materials right through final furnishings and decor'. I strive to carefully choreograph the "dance" that a renovation project can be. Bringing creative exuberance and practical knowledge to any project has been a valuable asset for my clients.

Kicking Back:

In my leisure time you'll find me out on a long bike ride ( I have ridden the PMC 8 times!) in one of my many perennial gardens or reading a good book on the back porch. My greatest achievement by far are my two wonderful college age sons now grown and pursuing their studies in business and biology.
